Community programs including annual Walk-n-Knock food drive for local food banks. Children's Easter egg hunt. Scholarships for graduating seniiors. Multiple District #9 operates a free mobile medical van for screening of vision and glaucoma, hearing, blood pressure and diabetes; walk-ins welcome. Medical equipment to lend out including wheelchairs, crutches, nebulizers, etc. Call for information on membership and/or services.

L&I is a diverse state agency dedicated to the safety, health and security of Washington's 3.2 million workers. We help employers meet safety and health standards and we inspect workplaces when alerted to hazards. As administrators of the state's workers' compensation system, we are similar to a large insurance company, providing medical and limited wage-replacement coverage to workers who suffer job-related injuries and illness.

Community Services Office (CSO) -Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS)

Services Provided: Services available to families and individuals, including cash, medical, food, child care and social services. The CSO administers state and federal public welfare programs. These include medical programs for aged, blind and disabled individuals, children and pregnant women. We also administer medical programs that assist Medicare recipients with their co-pays and deductibles and with drug and alcohol treatment. There are other medical assistance programs available so we encourage anyone to apply who may be in need of medical assistance.

Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA)

The SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) HelpLine is a statewide network of trained volunteer advisors that offer free assistance to residents. Advisors help residents of all ages and backgrounds with questions about health insurance, health care access and prescription drug plans, and they can assist with problems or instances of fraud.

Lower Columbia CAP in Longview is the host for residents in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum or Lewis Counties. Advisors are available to meet with residents either in person or by telephone.
