Assistance in quitting tobacco use, including: smoke and smoke free tobacco, c-ciggs, prevention plans. They also have information about : breast feeding, family planning, food safety, healthy aging, healthy home, illnesses and diseases, immunization, infant-child-teens, injury and violence prevention, marijuana, men's health, nutrition and physical activity, oral health, poisoning and drug overdose.

Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) - Cowlitz County Health Department

The Nurse-Family Partnership is a FREE nurse home visiting program for women who are having their first baby, are low income and are less than 28 weeks pregnant. A nurse visits each family every week or two during pregnancy and until the baby is 2 years old.

Key focus areas include preparedness planning and readiness; surveillance and epidemiological capacity; communications; risk communication and health information dissemination; and education and training.

Syringe Exchange - Cowlitz County Health Department

The Syringe Exchange Program is a free public health program for intravenous drug users. It is an important component of a comprehensive set of programs designed to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDA and other blood borne infections among injection drug users, their families and contaminated syringes. Important risk reduction information is provided and a social worker is available to help drug users get into drug treatment and health care programs. Other services are sometimes provided, including HIV testing. Syringe Exchange is NOT located at the Health Department.

Children with Special Healthcare Needs (CSHCN) Cowlitz County Health Department

The mission of this program is to promote integrated systems of care that assure that children with special health care needs have the opportunity to achieve the healthiest life possible and develop to their fullest potential. The Children with Special Health Care Needs program serves children with physical, behavioral, or emotional conditions that require health and related services beyond those required by children generally. Client referrals can be made by families, school, medical providers, and others to the CSHCN Coordinator in the County Health Department where the child lives.

The Children with Special Health Care Needs Program is in the Healthy Starts and Transitions unit in the Office of Healthy Communities at the Department of Health.  The program promotes an integrated system of services for infants, children and youth up to age 18 years who have or are at risk for chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions and require health and related services of a type or amount beyond what is generally needed.
