Public Health Emergency Preparedness & Response (PHEPR)- Cowlitz County Health Department

This program is a comprehensive network of public health professionals functioning to strengthen public health infrastructure in preparation for any natural or human made disaster. Key focus areas include preparedness planning and readiness; surveillance and epidemiological capacity; communications; risk communication and health information dissemination; and education and training.


W.S.U. Cowlitz County Extension

Informal research-based education to the community in the areas of: 4-H Youth Development; Leadership Development; Food Safety and Nutrition; Horticulture and Natural Resources; Family Budgeting; Clothing and Textiles; Parenting; Composting and Recycling; Working with Volunteers; Master Gardener Clinics.  Education is provided by workshops, written publications, one-on-one responses to phone calls, newsletters and volunteer outreach.


Continuing Education for Caregivers - Lower Columbia College

The Continuing Education Department offers health, safety, prevention and wellness education. Courses address issues relevant to caregivers and the clients they serve as well as other health care providers and family caregivers. Most classes and programs are offered at a minimal fee. Lower Columbia College Early Learning Center (ELC)

Our childcare center provides state licensed childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry. We are open to all members of the community. Home and Family Life (HOFL) is a participant of the Washington State Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system. Our teachers are trained in the Early Childhood Education field. Early Support for Infants and Toddlers - Department of Early Learning

We at the Department of Early Learning (DEL) strive to help create safe, healthy nurturing learning experiences for all Washington children. Our work focuses on the earliest years in children's homes, child care, school programs and communities. We offer information and resources for children's first and most important teachers -- parents -- as well as others who care for and teach young children.


Goodwill Work Opportunity Center of Cowlitz County

Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Job Placement and Retention Services, including Job Coaching if needed. Potential clients would apply for vocational services through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and once accepted would request that the Work Opportunity Center of Cowlitz County be their employment vendor. Staff is fluent in ASL.

Individual Supported Employment. Long term job retention services for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, including Job Coaching. Referral is made by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.


Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) - Department of Social and Health Services

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) provides employment services and counseling to individuals with disabilities who want to work but experience barriers to work because of a physical, sensory, and/or mental disability. A DVR counselor works with each person to develop a customized plan of services designed to help them reach their employment goal.
